RIBBLESDALE ROAD

House extension in London | 2019 /// 297 m2
In collaboration with Oliver Leech

The property is located on the east side of Ribblesdale Road in the London borough of Wandsworth. It is a ground-floor apartment in a double-fronted terraced house situated at the end of Ribblesdale Road. The surrounding area is typical of Victorian-style houses.
At the rear, there is a large garden extending 13.6 meters from the back of the house and 8.7 meters wide. There is access to the main street via a small side alley.
The proposal includes a rear garden-level extension and a roof extension, sloping towards the rear at a 70-degree angle, with two dormer extensions designed to create symmetry on the façade and appropriately sized for the property’s width.
The roof and dormer extensions will be clad in high-quality fiber-cement slate tiles to match the surrounding properties. The side walls will be extended using matching London brick. Aluminum-framed double-glazed windows will be installed with traditional lead flashing. The aluminum frames will be powder-coated to complement the color of the fiber-cement tiles.
